Referees who are registered with the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) may upgrade to the next referee grade once they have satisfied specific requirements.

Upgrading requires:

Minimum age

Game Count & Experience at the appropriate level (USSF affiliated games only)

Time in present grade

Training courses (monthly meetings & Annual training from USSF/FIFA instructors)

Written Exam (passing score)

Assessments (passing score)

Physical Fitness Test (passing score)

Because of the complexity of upgrading, it is strongly recommended that you contact and work with your State Referee Administrator and State Director of Assessment
